Summary
The topographical anatomy and variability of heart position in the breast cavity in coypus (Myocastor coypus) were investigated. Examinations were carried out after cardial blood collection and the subsequent dissection of the animals.The total number of experimental animals amounted to 65. A variability in heart position was observed: to the left of centre in 29, to the right of centre in 13, and in the centre (median position) in 23 animals. No statistically significant sex related differences were observed.
