Summary
CD3 positive lymphocytes were analysed in prescapular lymph nodes from 109 cows seropositive to bovine leukaemia virus (BLV). In a variety of reactions (B-zonal hyperplasia, T-zonal hyperplasia, mixed hyperplasia, pulp proliferation, atrophy) CD3 cells were numerous in T-zonal hyperplasia and mixed hyperplasia. An influx of CD3 cells into some germinal centres was found in the T-zonal hyperplasia. Finding CD3-labelled cells in active germinal centres was rare in B-zonal hyperplasia. Pulp proliferation and atrophy of T and B zones were accompanied by a decrease in number of the lymphocytes studied.
Key words: cattle; enzootic bovine leukaemia; lymph nodes; CD3 lymphocytes
