Summary

Foodborne parasitic diseases are one of main reasons for illness and economic loss. Public health can be threatened by parasitic diseases such as toxoplasmosis, trichinellosis, trematodosis, etc. Illnesses like these happen not only in developing countries but also in developed western countries. The rising concern over food safety needs a reappraisal of the significance of foodborne parasitoses, and the ways to control them. This review will concern our current knowledge and legislation about fish and fish parasites and their control.
