Summary

The surface of the ependymal lining of the infundibular recess of the third brain ventricle in adult goats was studied by scanning electron microscope, after hormonal stimulation. The administration of synthetic LH-RH with Gn-RH and progesterone to females in the expected period of anoestrus (April) induced the same or very similar responses as those under physiological conditions. In our study a possible theoretical explanation is given for certain changes in the structure of the ependymal lining of the infundibular recess of the goat.

Key words: third brain ventricle; infundibular recess; ependyma; hormonal stimulation; goat
