Summary

The effect of hypodynamia on the vitality of Japanese quail hatchlings from the age of 6 days (experiment 1) and 2 days (experiment 2) was studied. In experiment 1, two of three experimental birds died immediately on the second day after their exposure to hypodynamia. The third individual survived 63 days. In the experiment 2, four tested animals survived under conditions of hypodynamia 42, 63, 64, and 188 days. Our results are of great importance in realizing the close cycle of breeding Japanese quails under conditions of microgravitaty.

Key words: hypodynamia; Japanese quail; vitality
